A Half-Marathon Inspired Startup
After gathering extensive experience in marketing and branding at some of the top fitness and nutrition companies in the country, Paul and Stephanie Jarrett decided to start fresh and explore the smorgasbord of entrepreneurs in San Francisco. Being surrounded by the creative people and dynamic atmosphere signature to the Bay Area helped get the couple in the right mindset to start something great.
Paul, a former Division I football player, and Stephanie, an avid runner, have always been interested in products that help increase their performance and allow their bodies to function at optimum health. However, it wasn’t until the completion of the San Francisco half-marathon that they decided to use their passion for health and nutrition to make their own impact on the industry. In their efforts to recover from the 13.1 mile run, they began to load up on the vendor vitamin, supplement, and health samples. Paul and Stephanie noticed the lack of marketing data these companies were gathering and the difficulty of measuring ROI on the samples they gave out. With their knowledge of the industry and time to think about a solution, Bulu Box was formed.
May 21, 2013 marked their one year anniversary of “spreading health across the nation,” and their future continues to look promising.
