Leap2 Keeping Its Enemy Closer
It’s hard to break people away from the strong brand loyalty developed with Google’s search engine over the past 15 years. ..Unless you’re targeting the more demanding, younger generation who seeks the original and won’t accept anything less than a visual experience. This is Leap2′s hope with more teens using Snapchat, than Facebook. There’s an opportunity to steal their loyalty before they get hooked on Google.
Now, just because they are competitors, this doesn’t mean Leap2 refrains from using the free, public Internet 100 times faster than the average broadband provided by Google Fiber. This is what attracted Leap2 and the 23 other companies to the KC Startup Village. With Pinterest being a huge inspiration, Leap2 has created a visually stimulating mobile and desktop search engine app that will soon leverage social engagement in its search queries, and Google Fiber has played a part in enabling it to download data fast on certain projects. It isn’t necessary for everyday use, but the luxury of virtually limitless possibilities with Google Fiber is hard to beat.
Be sure to look out for Leap2′s new feature “Perspectives” coming out in the next couple weeks, which creates a personalized visual experience similar to Pinterest of curated search from topics or subjects matters.
